A family day, which some companies call a company fun day and others a family fun day event, is the occasion on which employees show their partners and children where they spend their working hours. It is also the day on which the company presents itself to an audience that normally stays outside the gates. HR departments plan it as part of employee welfare, and it works for engagement because work stops being a place the family only hears about over dinner. Those guests change the brief for the staff, since welcoming a couple with two small children at the door calls for different skills from checking in a delegate at a conference.
We select and coordinate the professionals who hold the day together: entertainment and games for the children, welcome and registration for the families, food and drink, and the supervision of the spaces when you hand us the whole event. You set the objectives, the venue, the date and the number of families you expect, and we build the rest around them. The family day belongs to our event services for companies and follows the same method wherever we work. We operate in Italy, Germany and Spain, and the platform covers cities across Europe.
What makes a great family day
A good family day rests on a handful of operational blocks, each sized to your programme and to the number of families on the guest list. The event staff for every block comes from the same network and works to a single briefing.
- Event entertainment for the children. Workshops, games and shows are planned for the age groups you expect, including activities built around what the company makes, and they are run by professionals chosen from our entertainers and animators.
- Welcome and registration. Hostesses and stewards at the entrance desk manage the guest list, hand out badges and identification wristbands for the children, and point families towards the activity areas.
- Food and drink. Bartenders, waiters and chefs look after the buffet, the afternoon tea or the lunch, with menus that keep the youngest guests in mind, and allergies and intolerances go into the request.
- Spaces and routes. Stewards guide families through the outdoor areas, the car park and the route of a plant tour, so that nobody wanders into a part of the site that stays closed.
Adults can have their own moment in the same day. A session reserved for colleagues can run alongside the family programme as one of our team building events, while the children stay with the entertainers. Inflatables and other attractions hired from outside suppliers fit into the programme too, and when we organise the whole event the Event Manager coordinates those suppliers together with the staff.
How many entertainers the children need
The number of entertainers and animators is fixed in the brief, before the quote, and it depends on the age groups you expect, the type of activity and the layout of the spaces. A seated craft workshop and an area with inflatables do not call for the same supervision, and an open outdoor area needs more cover than a closed room. The proposal then shows the professionals planned for each age group and for the entrances. From the first request it is worth agreeing that every group of children has a designated adult, and that every entertainer knows which group they follow before the gates open.
Company family day event ideas
The strongest family fun day event ideas grow out of the objective of the day and the season it falls in. Bringing the children to the workplace is the simplest format: they visit their parents’ desks, see what happens in each department and join a workshop about the company’s trade. Entertainers lead the groups from one department to the next and hostesses manage the entrances, since the building remains a place of work during the visit.
Christmas gives a family day event one of its clearest themes, and in December the day turns into the company Christmas party for employees’ families, built around a show for the children, the presents and a buffet for everyone. Hostesses look after the entrance and the handing out of gifts, entertainers run the show, and bartenders and chefs take care of the food. The timing of the show decides when the buffet opens, so the two are set together in the programme.
A manufacturer can build the day around a tour of the plant, on a route designed for the height, the pace and the attention span of children. Stewards stand along the route and hostesses wait at the starting point of each group. A workshop at the end turns the product into a game, in which the children build, draw or taste what their parents make every day.
Other corporate family day event ideas move outdoors. An anniversary, a milestone or the opening of new premises lends itself to a day in the open air, with team games for the children, a short company address for the adults and a buffet lunch. On a day like this, the coverage of each area, the shade and a plan for bad weather matter as much as the activities, and each of them belongs in the brief.
How we run your family day
We start from the objective you set for the day: introducing the company to the families, celebrating a milestone, opening a new plant. The format is built on that objective, with its duration, time slots, visit routes and the balance between activities for the children and moments for the adults, and only after that do we define the staff, role by role. On-site logistics come last: welcome points, activity areas, safe routes, set-up and break-down times. Before the families arrive, the staff receive a briefing on dress code, schedules, positions and on-site contacts.
Behind the method there is a network of over 50,000 professionals registered on the platform, and we managed more than 1,800 events in 2025, with over 6,000 events since launch. You choose the staff: the Event Manager preselects the profiles and you decide who will meet your families. Every professional works under a digital contract signed on the platform, and insurance and administrative charges for the staff are borne by ToGet4U.
The whole day or only the staff for the families
You can hand us the entire day or only part of it. With our full event organization service the site visit is included, and the Event Manager is on site on the day, in charge of on-site coordination with the suppliers, the supervision of the spaces and the management of entrances and exits. If you only need the staff, for example entertainers and hostesses for a day you run yourselves, the Event Manager follows it remotely, and whether a site visit takes place depends on the case and the type of event. The briefing to the staff is the same in both cases.
How to request a family day
Requesting a family day needs no registration on the platform. A useful request carries the number of families and guests expected, the city and the venue, the date and the hours, the age groups of the children and the activities you have in mind. It also says whether you want the whole event organised or only the staff. You send the request and receive a comprehensive quote. Once you accept it, the available profiles follow, and you compare them and choose who comes to your day. The quote is free and carries no obligation, and a dedicated Event Manager follows you from the request to the post-event stage.
Some family days follow a shape of their own: an end-of-school-year party for employees’ children, a Sunday of sport for the families, a refurbished department shown to relatives. They are planned in the same way, starting from the type of day, the dates, the place and the professionals it needs. You can request a quote by describing your own family day in those terms.
