Event steward and staff job openings

These steward jobs are for people who want paid work at exhibitions, congresses and corporate events, where the day is spent welcoming guests, running accreditation desks and pointing visitors to the right hall or stand. The offers never include stadium stewarding, security, door supervision or the kitchen and bar steward posts advertised by hotels and restaurants. You decide which offers to apply for, and each one sets out the city, the dates and the role before you commit to anything.

Event steward jobs across Europe

Steward vacancies on ToGet4U® come one event at a time: a trade fair over a few days, a congress with its registration desk and conference rooms, a corporate evening that needs a welcome team for a handful of hours. ToGet4U operates in Italy, Germany and Spain, so the openings follow the events to the cities where they are held. That rhythm suits students fitting work around exams, freelancers with other jobs during the week and people who already work with a VAT number, since you only apply for the dates you can actually work.

Offers for stewards sit with the other event jobs on the platform, next to hostess, promoter and model roles, and one profile can carry every service you offer. ToGet4U handled more than 1,800 events in 2025, from trade fairs and congresses to promotions and company events. Where the jobs are

Steward work is listed on city pages, and ToGet4U asks candidates not to apply for jobs too far from where they live, so the page for your area is the one to check first.

The platform covers cities across Europe, and steward jobs in Dublin have a page of their own. Hostess openings sit on a separate page, event hostess jobs, and the same free profile lets you apply to both.

How to apply and get paid

Registration is free, and what it asks of you is a profile: the services you offer, the events you have already worked, the cities where you can work, and a professional photo. That profile joins over 50,000 professionals registered on the platform, and from your account area, or from the ToGet4U app on iOS and Android, you apply to the offers that fit without waiting to be called. The company behind the event receives a shortlist of profiles and picks who works it. With 90% of selections closed within 48 hours in peak weeks, a profile left out of date can cost you a job you wanted.

Once you are selected you sign a digital contract, and ToGet4U expects a signed contract to be honoured. Before the event you get a briefing with the dress code, the hours, your position and the people to refer to on site. Payment then depends on how you work: on terms agreed case by case with a VAT number; without one, on scheduled dates for occasional work or on the same case-by-case terms for an employment contract.

What the role involves

Welcome and accreditation are the core of it: greeting people as they arrive, checking registrations, handing out badges and answering the first questions of the day. Orientation follows, because exhibitions and congresses spread across halls, rooms and floors, and visitors need someone who knows where each session or stand is. The rest of the shift goes on assistance, on an exhibitor’s stand at a trade fair or in the conference rooms while sessions run, and on guiding guests through the venue at corporate events and product launches. Companies that book stewards read the same roles from their side on the steward agency page.

Francesca Rubiola, CEO of ToGet4U, has described the people who work at events as often the first contact between a brand and the public. Talking about selection, she has said that preparation, precision and the ability to read an offer properly count alongside availability. The people who present themselves clearly, carefully and on time are, in her account, the ones selected more often, and on the day, that means arriving at the hour the briefing gives, in the dress code it sets, for a job you already know from reading the offer.

I have collaborated with this agency on several occasions and I have always had a very good time. The portal is very clear and intuitive. To mention efficient communication, punctuality and precision both with regard to the organization of events and their development, and with regard to subsequent payments. Super reliable, I will be more than happy to work together with ToGet4U again!

Personally, I had to deal with Francesca. What can I say, a precise, punctual and attentive professional to the customer’s needs. He helped me by advising me and finding promoters who turned out to be perfect for my needs. It is definitely a great business partner to work with.

I had the opportunity to collaborate with ToGet4U for the inauguration of our new General Contractor office and I had a very good time. The interface with Mauro was very fluid and professional and we were shown the right profile (Ilaria) for our type of event, which was, thanks also to their support, perfectly successful. Recommended!

Frequently asked questions about steward jobs

What qualifications do I need to become an event steward?

The requirements are the ones written in each offer, and the common ground is being available on the dates and bringing a professional attitude to the job. An offer may ask for no previous experience, or for event work behind you or a language to use with visitors, and whatever it asks is stated there. A profile that records your past events, even short ones, gives the company something concrete to go on.

How much do event stewards earn?

Each offer carries its own fee, written in the offer itself, so you know the amount before you apply and before you accept. No general rate is published for stewards, and the work is paid event by event, with or without a VAT number. Reading the openings published for your city is the way to see what steward work pays there.

Do I need a licence to work as an event steward?

Whatever a job requires is listed in its offer, and you read it before deciding whether to apply. Steward roles on ToGet4U are welcome and assistance roles at fairs, congresses and company events, covering accreditation, directions, help on exhibitors' stands and support in conference rooms.

Is registration free for steward jobs?

Yes, creating a profile and applying to offers cost nothing, for steward jobs as for every other role on the platform. You can create your free profile in a browser or through the app, then apply as soon as an opening fits your dates.
